Common questions

Starting a drawing

Open DoodleFam and create a canvas from the sketchbook. Draw with your finger or Apple Pencil, then choose a drawing tool and adjust its color or size as you work.

Finding artwork and saving it

Your drawings are kept in the app’s local sketchbook. Give a drawing a recognizable name and return to the sketchbook to reopen it. For an extra copy, export an editable backup through the app’s sharing options.

Changing something later

Select an object on the canvas to move, resize, rotate, or edit it. Open Layers to organize elements and groups, change their order, hide them, or lock them while working.

Adding photos

Use the photo option in the editor and choose a picture from Apple’s photo picker. If a photo does not appear, check the app’s permission prompts and try another image. Your library is not uploaded to a DoodleFam account.

Sharing or printing a creation

Use Export to create a PNG, JPEG, or PDF, or save an editable backup. The iOS share sheet lets you send the exported file through the apps and services you choose.

Learning and inspiration

Creative Adventures offers prompts for making something new. Little Learners provides approachable practice and coloring activities for younger artists.

When something goes wrong

Try closing and reopening the drawing. Keep the original file if it cannot be opened. Report a Bug inside DoodleFam, or email support with the steps that led to the problem.

Privacy and diagnostics

DoodleFam does not require an account and has no third-party ads. Safe diagnostic event codes stay on your device unless you choose to include them in a report and send it. Read the DoodleFam privacy policy for details.
